Don Morrow
VARSITY HEAD COACH
Coach Morrow enters his 33rd season leading Mira Costa, with more than 300 career wins. He emphasizes character, camaraderie, and team commitment, while helping develop generations of Mustangs, including more than 30 all-CIF players and multiple athletes who reached professional football.

Ray Lee
Defensive Coordinator
Coach Lee has worked alongside Coach Morrow since 1992 and joined him at Mira Costa for the program’s 1993 CIF title. A longtime defensive leader, he has helped guide the Mustangs through multiple championship runs while also overseeing Mira Costa’s security program.

Arnold Dotson
Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Dotson enters his 11th year with the varsity staff after serving as freshman defensive coordinator. With more than 30 years of coaching experience, he also spent 28 years with the Los Angeles Police Department and has coached and mentored athletes across several sports.

Greg Holt
Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Holt begins his fi fth season coaching the Mustangs’ safeties after 29 years as head coach at West High in Torrance. His extensive background also includes ten seasons at Long Beach State, where he worked alongside several coaches who later reached the NFL.

Chuck Arrasmith
Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Arrasmith began coaching in 1972 and has worked at several high school and college programs, including Aviation High, where he coached future Mira Costa coaches. His long Mustang tenure includes every CIF title team and all but one finalist team.

Derrick Abell
Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Abell joined the program after 33 years in law enforcement, including service as Manhattan Beach Chief of Police. He brings leadership, directness, and a strong commitment to community, using motivational guidance to inspire Mustang players both on and off the field.

Bill Fournell
JV Head Coach
Coach Fournell, a Manhattan Beach native, is in his sixth season with the Mustang JV team. A former Aviation High, El Camino College, and Cal State Northridge player, he coaches linebackers and tight ends and also directs the JV special teams unit.

Ben Karp
JV Assistant Coach
Coach Karp enters his eighth season with the JV team, coaching safeties with passion and energy. He emphasizes camaraderie, accountability, and understanding the game, encouraging athletes to take ownership on and off the fi eld while growing as players and teammates.

David Bugdanowitz
Defensive Coordinator
A proud Mira Costa alumnus and former team captain, Coach Bugdanowitz now serves as JV Defensive Coordinator and varsity linebackers coach. He previously led Vistamar High School and remains active in South Bay youth football, including the Future Five Stars Football Camp.

BRANDON MOLALE
JV Assistant Coach
Coach Molale begins his second season at Mira Costa after coaching the Frosh offensive line last year and moving to JV this season. A former Fresno State player and strength coach, he also brings years of youth football coaching experience to the Mustangs.

Zavian Monegan
JV Assistant Coach
Coach Monegan serves on the Mira Costa JV coaching staff while also working on campus in security and as a Special Education Instructional Aide. A Cal State Dominguez Hills student, he is committed to supporting and mentoring students both on and off the field.

Bryce Carlisle
JV Assistant Coach
Coach Carlisle is a 2020 Mira Costa graduate and former three-year varsity player who competed at multiple positions. After continuing his career at the collegiate level, he returned to coach while also working with local youth tackle football and girls club fl ag football.

Brad Angeleri
Frosh Head Coach
Coach Angeleri has been part of Mira Costa Football since 1993 and has coached at every level of the program. His focus is helping young athletes grow on and off the field, teaching life lessons while building confidence, character, and commitment.

Frank Wicks
Frosh Assistant Coach
Coach Wicks enters his 23rd year coaching Mira Costa Football and his 16th as offensive coordinator. A former Aviation High athlete and Long Beach State graduate, he brings decades of South Bay football experience and continues coaching both football and baseball.

Shep Sepaniak
Frosh Assistant Coach
Coach Sepaniak enters his first season at Mira Costa, working with running backs and linebackers. A former East Carolina University player at both positions, he brings collegiate experience to the Frosh staff and a strong understanding of both sides of the ball.

Franklin Ortiz
Head Athletic Trainer
Anyone who’s ever had an injured athlete will agree, Franklin is a blessing to all Costa Athletes! As a PT, DPT, OCS, Doctor of Physical Therapy with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and rehabilitation, including sports-specific rehabilitation, function design mobility, stability training, and post graduate advanced manual training, Franklin looks after our players with kindness, patience and love. He developed an interested in healthcare and sports physical therapy having played football, baseball, cross country, surfing and weight lifting throughout his own athletic career. He is passionate about helping people reach their exercise, fitness and sports goals. Franklin earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science at Loma Linda University. He is currently a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist, Emergency Medical responder for Sports Venues and our Head Trainer at Mira Costa HS.

Duke Winser
Videographer/ Statistician/ Spiritual Leader
Retired Manhattan Beach Middle School humanities teacher, Duke Winser has been assisting Mira Costa Football for many years in many ways. Duke primarily shoots video at the practices and games, tabulates statistics and works with the coaches to get the athletes ready for Friday Night Lights. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Biola University in 1977, and then graduated from Talbot Seminary three years later. He has four children and seven grandchildren.

Ruby DeRenzis
Team Manager
Ruby is a junior this year and this is her first year has team manager for the Mira Costa Mustang football team. She makes sure all the players are hydrated during games and practices and helps the trainers, Franklin and Ryan with injuries. Her knowledge of the game and love for football makes it easy to understand what the players need and how to help them. As an athlete herself, she says, “one of my favorite things about sports as always been the family that comes along with it and I am excited to now be a part of this one.”

Allison Crawford
Team Manager
Allison is a junior this year, and this is her first season as a team manager for the Mira Costa Mustang football team. As a team manager, she makes sure all the players stay hydrated during games and practices. She also assists the trainers, Franklin and Ryan, with injuries. Her knowledge of the game and understanding of what it takes to be an athlete drive her dedication to the team. As an athlete herself, she says, “I admire those who dedicate their time and energy to play a sport they love.”
